KINGS HEATH ARCHERS

NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2010

Can we just remind members that the NFAS insurance expires on March 31st. The form you need to complete is part of the NFAS newsletter and you can send this at any time before the expiry date. If you can't locate your form then we do have some available for you to complete. Ask Linda for a copy. You need to be aware that if you are practicing on Saturday mornings on the field, every person needs to have 2009/2010 NFAS insurance so please carry your card as proof.

We have information on a new archery shop which is now open. It is called Topnock and it's at the rear of 1173a Bristol Road South, Northfield, B31 2SL. James Hutchings is the man to speak to on 0121 477 2644 or topnock@topnockarchery.co.uk or www.topnockarchery.co.uk.

Doverdale Bowmen are holding a Spring Shoot on Sunday 25th April. We wish all those who have entered the best of luck but if you haven't put your name down and want to go along you will need to contact Doverdale direct.

We will be taking orders for badged clothing over the next few weeks so if you fancy a T-shirt, polo shirt, hoodie, gilet, long sleeve polo shirt or fleece jacket, can you please let linda know the size and garment you want. We need a minimum order of 12 garments.

We have some people booked in for the simulator at Whitchurch on 7th March. We need to leave the cricket club before 12:30pm and should return around 6pm. there will be a vending machine on site but you can bring your own refreshments.

We are looking to hold our general meeting on Sunday 2nd May after shooting. We will arrange a 2 course meal to be provided and this will cost £5:00 per person. We hope to present medals and trophies at the meeting so can everyone pleae make a note of the date.

The summer fetes this year will be Solihul on 12th June, Bournville on 26th June and Northfield on 3rd July. All these are on Saturdays and we usually get on the grounds before 10:30 am. If you can help with any of the fetes, even if only for a couple of hours, please let Linda know.

We also need help on 3 corporate events on Saturday mornings from 10:00am to noon, on the 15th May, 19th June and 17th July. Again let Linda know, we would be very grateful.

We are now coming to the stage where our beginners need signing off as full members of the NFAS so we will be arranging a trip to Doverdale so these people can have their first shoot around a woodland.

If you have any archery equipment you no longer want then let Norman or Mike know because they have contacts who are looking to buy bits and pieces. We can also put your advert on the notice board.

The cricket club have asked us to give up 8 Sunday mornings during the summer so that cricket matches can take place. We will be speaking to the club about this as it comes at a time when we have more new members because of the fetes. We think one of the Sundays will be the bank holiday and we hope to put one at least one clout shoot, but we do need to negotiate the other days. We will update you as soon as we know more.
