Newsletter - September 2008
Hope everyone has had a good holiday and is ready for the new shooting season.
Just to update you on the fundraising front; we raised £610 from Bournville Festival; £211 at the Transport Stadium and a total of £365 from the corporate evenings and taster sessions. So, to everyone who helped out, we send our thanks. We couldn't have done it with out you.
A reminder to all our archers that the first indoor shooting session will be in the usual hall on Friday 3rd October from 6.30pm. at Swanshurst Leisure Centre. If there are any Friday cancellations we will try to let you know in good time.
We are hoping to hold this years Tom Miles Memorial Barbeque Shoot on the 5th October. There will be a cost of £6.00 per person, which must be paid before hand and a booking form is enclosed with this newsletter.
ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOOKED WILL BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT FOR THE TROPHY AND JOIN IN THE BARBEQUE.
The closing date for the booking forms is Sunday 28th September.
All the trophies and medals have been engraved and presented and we hope to have the postal shoot medals available shortly. We will present them as soon as we can.
We are still looking for an alternative site to Bell Heath and have been given contacts for the Packington Estate, Arbury Estate and the Forest of Arden. We will be following these up and will let you know of the outcome.
We have recieved information on the Doverdale Shoot at Hadley Farm, Droitwich on 14th September. If anyone wants to attend they can contact Elaine Duggan on 01905 454348 or email Elaine@doverdalebowmen.co.uk
Can anyone spare a couple of hours to help out at Lyndon PHAB Club, Lyndon Road, Shirley on Tuesday 9th September? If you can will you please let Linda know. Many thanks.
The pavilion is being booked for a meeting of club members on Sunday 12th October. We would like to ask you to stay behind after shooting for about an hour if possible.
And finally....
We have just recieved a phone call from Nigel Bell, Field Officer of the NFAS, who is deserate for help with the Nationals being held on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September. This will be at the Heart Of England Showground near Coventry and he asks if anyone can help lay a course for them. You will provided with all the kit; bosses, faces, pegs etc. and all you have to do is set it out, man the course and bring it back in afterwards. You will recieve payment for this. If you can help can you contact Nigel on 01925 601149 as soon as possible.
